The Michigan Small Business Survival Grant Program has been allocated $55 million to provide funding to small businesses that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. The funds will be distributed to 15 local or nonprofit economic development organizations (EDO). The EDOs will be responsible for reviewing, approving, and disbursing funds to businesses in their area. You can see the full list of EDOs by clicking here.
Program Timeline
- Application window opens at 9:00 AM on January 19, 2021.
- Application window closes at 12:00 PM on January 22, 2021.
- EDOs will work through the grant selection process during the week of January 25, 2021.
- Fund will be disbursed between January 29, 2021 and February 28, 2021.
- Non-disbursed funds will be returned to the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) for reallocation.

Eligibility Requirements
- Had 1 – 100 employees on November 17, 2020
- Needs working capital to support payroll expenses, rent, mortgage payments, utility expenses, or similar costs.
- Demonstrates an income loss as determined by the EDO in which an eligible business is located.
- Not eligible for funds under Section 401 of Public Act 257 of 2020: Michigan Stages Survival Grant Program.
