De Boer, Baumann & Company, PLC Announces Promotions

De Boer, Baumann & Company, PLC is pleased to announce the promotions of Carol Burley, CPA, Christopher Fleming, CPA, and Jason Van Heuvelen, CPA.

A member of the firm since 1997, Burley steps from the role of manager into that of senior manager. In addition to her client responsibilities, she is a member of the firms Accounting & Auditing Committee, the chair of the firm’s nonprofit niche, and a participant in onboarding and training activities. Fleming has been with De Boer, Baumann & Company since 2014, when he started as an intern. He previously served as senior staff and now takes on the responsibilities of a manager. In this capacity, he provides tax and accounting services to family owned businesses and individuals. Additionally, he chairs the firm’s Tax Committee. A member of the firm since 2019, Van Heuvelen now steps into the role of senior staff accountant. His responsibilities include tax preparation and compliance, financial statement preparation, and consulting work.

A 1994 graduate of Grand Valley State University, Burley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of CPAs (MICPA). Burley currently lives in Spring Lake, Michigan.

Fleming attended Thomas Edison State University, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting. He remains involved with his alma mater via the TESU Alumni Association. Additionally, Fleming is currently affiliated with the AICPA and the MICPA. He resides in South Haven, Michigan.

In 2017, Van Heuvelen graduated from Davenport University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business. He is a Corporal in the Marine Corps and is currently affiliated with the AICPA and the MICPA. Van Heuvelen lives in Holland, Michigan with his wife, Amanda, and their three children.
